Issue No. 62 (Summer 2007)
JLGC publishes the Newsletter which introduces Japanese local governments and administration systems of Japan.

Japan Local Government Center (JLGC), New York, opened in 1989 as Council of Local Authorities for International Relations (CLAIR)´s first overseas office. CLAIR was established in July of 1988 to help promote and support local level internationalization in Japan.

We participated in Luxury Travel Expo in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Assistant Director Daito and Assistant Director Tanaka accompanied Dr. Akira Imagawa, Professor of Doshisha University, to Boston and several neighboring municipalities in Massachusetts for his research on state and local government services to the elderly.

Assistant Director Tanaka visited the village of Bronxville, NY, and spent a few days with Mr. Harry Porr, the Village Administrator of Bronxville, to research the role of the manager position in the US

We participated in the Council of State Governments  (CSG) Annual State Trends & Leadership Forum in Oklahoma City, OK.

Assistant Director Tanaka visited Fairfax County, VA, and spent a day with Mr. Anthony Griffin, the County Executive of Fairfax, to research the role of the Appointed County Executive in the U.S.

Assistant Director Tanaka visited the Township of Lyndhurst, NJ, to research the Commission Form of Government in the U.S.
